A prayer for Prince Philip

Lord God

We give thanks for the long life of Prince Philip, for all that he has contributed to our nation and beyond, and for his support of our Queen. We pray that he will be at rest trusting in the grace of God.

We remember before you Her Majesty the Queen and her family praying that they will know your comfort and strength in the days to come.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

On the death of the Duke of Edinburgh, here is a prayer for the Royal Family written by

Rev Hilary Cheng:

Almighty God,

We thank you for Prince Philip and for his full life and service to our country as the Duke of Edinburgh, in the many roles that he fulfilled.

We pray for the Queen in the loss of her husband, and for her family as they mourn his passing.

We ask that your comfort will surround each member of the Royal Family, as they come to terms with this news.

May we keep them in our thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks to come.

In Jesus’ name we pray

A prayer for the people of St Vincent in the Caribbean, following the eruption of a vulcano recently:

Almighty God,

We pray for the people of St Vincent’s in the Caribbean following the eruption of the volcano at the weekend. We lift to you all who are struggling, because their homes have been covered in ash, and for those who have had to leave the island to take sanctuary at neighbouring parts of the Caribbean.

Bless those in those country who have friends and family in St Vincent’s, and who are worried about their health, safety and whereabouts.

Watch over all who are affected by this situation and protect those who are dear to us.

Thank you for the help that has been offered by cruise ships and other agencies in evacuating the islanders. Help us to do what we can to restore health and livelihood to the inhabitants of the island.

In your name we pray,
